MAKING FABRIC JEWELRY Author,Marthe Le Van is a jewelry, metals, and beading editor for Lark Crafts. She has written, edited, juried or curated more than 60 books. Some of her publications are 21st CENTURY JEWELRY, RING A DAY, and 30-MINUTE RINGS. Marthe has also edited all jewelry books in Lark's popular "500" series and curated 500 WEDDING RINGS and MASTER: GOLD. She is a member of the Art Jewelry Forum and the Society of North American Goldsmiths. This 144 page paperback publication contains 20+ PROJECTS to Stitch, Fold, and Wear. I have loads of scraps and bits and baubles and as I read through this book I found myself daydreaming which scraps I could use for this project and which one for that project. I even came up with a few ideas of my own I want to experiment with so I gained great inspiration from this book also. On page 8 you receive the Basics: Materials matters: This section Covers the types of materials you'll use for the projects in this book. Sewing gear: This sections will give you a list of items you will need in a basic tool kit. Get Stitching: Covers forming stitches, seaming, ironing, tying knots and working with fusible interfacing. Finding Your Findings: Here you will find a list of all the components needed to keep your piece of jewelry together. Tools For Jewels: This section helps you know what tools are needed to complete your projects. Tiny Shiny Things: Here you will find a vast array of embellishments that makes the jewelry designs in this book entirely unique and captivating. The first project starts on page 38 and runs through to the last project ending on page 140. On pages 140-143 You are treated to a section about the designers. You will receive each name and their accomplishments. Some of the designers even give their online websites. I hope you enjoy the beautiful pictures of some of the projects in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and my hats off to Marthe , you did it again girl, nice job.
